Walls, ceilings, and trim together represent a complete interior transformation. Trim is the slowest surface to paint (brushwork, enamel, drying time), so it commands the highest labor percentage. When you include trim, you're addressing baseboards, door frames, window casings, crown molding, and interior doors—all the details that define a room's finished quality. Why does adding trim jump the price so dramatically? Trim work is slow, precise labor. Baseboards, door frames, and crown molding require painter's tape, careful cutting, brush application (rolling won't work on narrow trim), and multiple coats of enamel (which dries slower than wall paint). Baseboards: The horizontal trim at the base of walls. Often painted to match walls, trim color, or as an accent. Includes caulking gaps and filling nail holes.

Trim in Florida homes faces humidity and salt-air challenges. Semi-gloss enamel resists mildew and moisture better than flat finishes.
